Indiscriminate Goodness

August 12, 2011

Jesus draws an analogy between the goodness of God and the indiscriminate bounty of nature. That the sun shines on the just and the unjust. The rain falls on the just and the unjust. In his teaching about anxiety, which is, don’t worry about anything ‘cause God’ll take care of you, he says, well look at the lilies of the field, look at the beautiful colors and how they’re so beautifully arrayed. And he talks about King Solomon, his resplendent kingdom. He said Solomon never had a wardrobe like these. You don’t have to worry about what you’re gonna eat. You see these birds that are flying around here. Who feeds them? God feeds them. So, the odds are very good he’s gonna take care of you too.
