One-way living

October 13, 2011

… time past was time past. You just couldn’t get hold of the things you had done and turn them right again. Such power might be given to the gods, but it was not given to women and men, and that was probably a good thing. Had it been otherwise, people would probably die of old age still trying to rewrite their teens.

If you knew that past was out of reach, maybe you could forgive.

– excerpt from The Stand, a novel by Stephen King

Shawn, I’m shaking my head, here. The thing is, often my response to your ‘blessings’ is quite inarticulable– so I end up writing all kinds of bullsh*t like this, instead.

    Thank you.

Btw, picked up ‘Time’s Arrow,’ evening previous. (The book you gave me 2008 winter.)
