One big soul?

November 20, 2011

Maybe all men got one big soul who everybody’s a part of. All faces of the same man. One big self. Everyone looking for salvation by himself. Each like a coal drawn from the fire.

– spoken by the character Private Witt in The Thin Red Line, a film by Terrence Malick

May the triune God, both one and many, be within you, drawing you ever nearer, speaking to you of unity in community where distinctions of persons is also oneness in being; may the blessing of relationship and community arise from within us.
